The Children’s Center was established to provide childcare to young children in a nurturing and stimulating environment. Our team of early childhood specialists will support your child in developing at his or her own pace through exploration and collaborative learning experiences. We work in partnership with parents/ guardians to develop a curriculum which contributes to the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of your child. The Children’s Center welcomes children from 4 weeks to 6 years in age. All children are unique individuals whose experiences, abilities and needs are valued and respected. The Children’s Center encourages each child to participate and experience success. Children of ALL abilities are welcome!
Each teacher develops a lesson plan balancing the needs of the individual students in the classroom with appropriate developmental expectations. For some students this may require incorporation of accommodations within the classroom or within the activity to promote the student’s success.
It is our belief that in order to create a complete impression of the child, multiple sources of information must be obtained. In addition to the lead teacher, parents/guardians will be asked to complete developmental questionnaires which will assist the Center in enhancing your child’s learning experience.
The Children’s Center believes that an ongoing parent-professional dialogue is needed to develop, implement, monitor and modify activities. The parent/guardian is always welcomed and encouraged to visit the Center. Parents/guardians receive daily notes, progress reports, and newsletters. Parent/teacher conferences allow for discussion regarding the child’s skill level, next steps and any family needs which may require attention. Families can schedule a conference at any time to discuss their child’s progress and goals.
